In 1967, Miles F. Reitnouer and his spouse Doris Mae founded a company in the cellar of their row home with very little capital. To honor his wife, Miles decided to name this corporation Dor-Mae Industries. Utilizing his tool and die making knowledge and equipped with a lathe, saw, milling machine, and grinder, he began doing tedious jobs which larger shops refused. Nevertheless, with quality and pride in his work, Miles continued to expand Dor-Mae Industries.
In 1970 he purchased a 4,000 sq ft garage to accommodate his continuous growth. Here, the business developed into metal stampings and metal fabricating. Before long, it was time for another expansion and in 1977 he purchased a 10,000 sq ft building in order to handle bigger equipment and jobs.
Another era began when his children became involved in the family business as well. With their help and more success, additional growth was needed yet again. Presently Dor-Mae is located in a 130,000 sq ft building and the business is now owned by his two daughters, Mitzi Reitnouer and Pamela Houck.
